Whole30 Approved Breakfast Sausage
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ¾ teaspoon dried sage
  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  1. Combine all ingredients in a glass bowl.
  2. Allow mixture to sit overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. Form into sausage patties or cook as sausage crumbles the next morning.
  4. Enjoy!

I love breakfast sausage and quickly became frustrated when I couldn’t find compliant sausage very easily when first starting Whole30. After doing a little research I quickly figured out that I could make my own. And I’m glad I did because it tastes a heck of a lot better than the store bought stuff. I make this sausage the night before to allow the seasonings to marinate the meat a little. And when I wake up I have sausage that’s ready to be cooked. This is a hit with our family!
