Stir Fry Sunday

This recipe has quickly become a staple in our house. We’ve been making it on Sunday’s after church and it’s the best quick-to-throw-together recipe. Even easier if you’ve got your meat already cooked. (Most of the time we throw our beef or chicken into the crockpot with House Seasoning and let it cook on high for the couple hours that we’re at church. And VIOLA! we walk into the door with just a few steps to follow for a yummy stir fry.

I hope you guys enjoy this recipe! If you make it and post a photo to Instagram tag me! Tag me in your actual photo and use the hashtag #EmilyEatsRealFoodRecipe. I love seeing the creations you come up with from my recipes.

Whole30 Approved Stir Fry
  • 2 lbs of chicken or steak sliced ¼ in thick
  • ¼ c of sesame oil
  • Avocado oil
  • 2 large green onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 8 cups of your favorite chopped veggies (those in the photo come frozen from costco. We also chop up our own fresh veggies sometimes. Any combo is yummy- broccoli, asparagus, cabbage, peppers, onions, carrots, mushrooms, whatever you have!)
  • Stir Fry Sauce:
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup coconut aminos (We use soy sauce if we aren't doing whole30)
  • ½ cup of juice from fresh oranges
  • A few dashes of fish sauce (I use Red Boat. optional)
  • A squirt of honey (Omit if you're whole30.)
  1. Combine Sauce ingredients in a small sauce pan and simmer on medium until needed.
  2. In a large wok saute sliced meat, and garlic in sesame oil until done and set aside. (Skip this step if your meat is pre-cooked.)
  3. Add all veggies to the hot wok and add a little extra avocado oil. Sauce until soft.
  4. Add meat back into mixture and pour sauce over everything.
  5. Toss to coat, Sprinkle in some sesame seeds if you like them and serve!
  6. (We've topped ours with Sriracha Sauce in the photo above. If you're Whole30 drizzle a little Franks RedHot over it. It gives it a nice kick.)

Loved this sauce. Made for W30, day 23 and have lunch for tomorrow. Used coconut aminos, frozen stir fry veggies that I steamed in microwave first, cara cara oranges, and added grated fresh ginger. Delish, thanks. Thank you for your instagram–this is my 3rd whole 30 attempt (made it whole27 last summer but have eaten mostly this way since)–and I really look forward to your posts for easy food ideas, beyond whole 30 thinking, and all around kindness and inspiration. You rock.

I made this for the family and they loved it! It’s always difficult to find meals because two of us are on the whole 30 and two of us aren’t, but everyone really enjoyed it. Yummy!
