I am Redeemed, bought at a price.

I’m a wife to the guy I gave my number to when I was 17. I wasn’t usually that bold, but that evening it just felt right and I’m glad I did. We’ve been married 13 years and we’re thankful that marriage is meant to make us Holy, not just happy. We’re thankful we get to wake up next to each other every morning with a fresh start and a new day ahead of us. We’re thankful His mercies are new each morning and we’re thankful for Grace.

We have two little blonde beauties. Our oldest is 9 and our youngest is 5. They’re the handiwork of our King and Creator and I’m so thankful He’s trusted me with them. I’m also thankful He’s molding me and my husband into open-handed parents who extend grace and who (hopefully!) point our girls to the Cross of Jesus. I don’t post photos of their sweet faces on my public Instagram account or on this blog because I want to respect their privacy. Thank you for being respectful of this.

I work almost full time as a hairstylist. My husband and I own a hair salon in the Denton area and I love my job. I don’t think there is any other job that I would enjoy this much- I get to hang out with some of the most encouraging people I’ve ever met, make my own hours and provide an income for our family. My sweet hubby is a very talented handyman who doesn’t give himself enough credit- he can build some amazing furniture and cabinets and fix just about anything. (He just did a MAJOR kitchen remodel at our own house.) I think he’s pretty amazing if you can’t tell. AND he cooks!! He actually cooks most of our weeknight meals and I often mention this but I’m careful to not rub it in. That’s a tricky thing. I know not every husband does this and I don’t take it for granted one single bit.

We live on a little piece of property in Denton, Texas where we have 2 dogs- one black lab and one poodle mix, 2 turkeys, 4 ducks and a plethora of chickens. It’s a good thing we like eggs. Because right now we get 8-10/day. My oldest daughter has an egg business and she’s quite the entrepreneur. She makes her entrepreneur parents pretty darn proud.

We enjoy the outdoors and we love to camp as a family. In the spring and fall you’ll find us camping with friends in our pop-up camper. My girls are in heaven while camping- you’d think we had taken them to Disney or something. And my hubby and I love watching them run and play and be kids. In the summer we’ll spend ALOT of time at our local waterpark (our summer heat is AWFUL if you ask me) and in the winters we watch movies, read books and on the occasional snow day we’ve been known to drag our kids around behind four wheelers on just about anything that will slide on the snow. (We’re safe- don’t worry.)

Our life is sweet but it is not perfect. We choose to embrace the season we’re in and we’re thankful for where the Lord has us right now. He is good.
